Statistics: Russia’s CPI at 0.1% in Jul 7–Mon, 9.4% from Jan 1
MOSCOW, Jul 15 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation index (CPI) slowed down to 0.1% between July 7 and Monday after rising to 0.7% the week before, and reached 9.4% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a report Wednesday.
In 2014, inflation amounted to 0.5% in July and 5.3% between January 1 and July 13.
Tea prices rose 0.2% and bread, margarine, sugar, caramel, chocolate sweets and vodka prices rose 0.1% in the reported week, while egg prices fell 0.7% and prices for cheese, flour, millet and buckwheat fell by 0.2–0.3%.
Prices for fruit and vegetables fell 1.7% on average. Prices for cucumbers fell 8.5%, tomato prices fell 8.3% and cabbage prices decreased 6.2%. Prices for carrot rose 3.2% and apple prices rose 0.6%.
Gasoline prices rose 0.7% and diesel prices rose 0.1%.
Tariffs for public services rose by 0.8–1.2%.
